: Listerine kills germs and it will kill the odor-causing germs in a urine stain. Put a little diluted Listerine on the area with the urine stain and then blot it up with towels or paper towels. It will leave behind a Listerine scent but that will fade, taking the urine odor with it.

Vinegar and Baking Soda

: This concoction works to remove the odor of urine quite well. Simply mix up some baking soda with water and make a paste, then rub it into the stained area. Then pour a little white vinegar onto it. Use some towels or paper towels to clean it up. You can rinse the area with some water and presto! The urine odor should be gone. The area may smell a bit like vinegar but it will dissipate.

Hydrogen Peroxide

: Hydrogen peroxide will take the urine odor out of your carpet, too. However, you need to be careful because it can harm the color of some carpets. Try it out on a hidden place in your carpet first.

  • Toothpaste. It may sound weird but try it. Any brand will do. Put a toothpaste on the stain after you have diluted it with warm water. Then brush it gently using a toothbrush.
  • Vinegar. Mix water and white vinegar, 50/50 ratio. Pour the solution on the stain so that it would cover the area and scrub it using a hard brush and blot it with paper towels after. The vinegar would neutralize the ammonia that is present in dog urine.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda. Take a handful of baking soda and pour it over the stain. Mix 3% hydrogen peroxide with 1 tsp detergent, see to it that the detergent you use isn’t caustic. Pour the solution over the baking soda and create a paste using your finger to mix it and let it dry. Once it is dried, use a vacuum cleaner over it.

Plush or Cloth Toys

After you’ve selected a great all-natural or specifically pet-safe detergent, add these toys to the washing machine to make them good as new. I’d recommend a hot water cycle with high heat drying to kill any germs or bacteria still present before presenting them back to a pet.

Tennis Balls

Tennis balls and other toys made of the same felt-like material can be tossed in the washing machine with pet-safe detergent as well. As a special bonus,putting them in the dryer with sheets and towels can fluff up your goods, too!

How to Wash Dog Toys

  1. Take out visible dirt. You can use an old toothbrush to remove any debris, dirt, grass, or any other particles.
  2. Soak toys in warm water. With a little soap and warm water put his toys and soak for a while. Then hold each toy under the running water and scrub it thoroughly.
  3. Squeeze excess water in toys. Rinse using cold running water, squeeze any excess water on each toy and place it on a towel. Allow the toys air dry.
  4. Sanitize his toys. You can sanitize his toys by using your dishwasher. Put his toys on the top most rack and run in hot cycle without any soap. This would sterilize his toys.
  5. Plushies and stuffed toys go in the washing machine. Place these kinds of toys in the washing machine and put in gentle cycle with very little or no detergent at all. Allow toys to go through the dryer in low heat then air dry.
Learning how to clean dog toys prove to be hygienic and practical to every pet parent.
