Curation Terms and Policy

Here at, curation is a matter that we take seriously. Linking, sharing, and recommending great stories from other sources on the web is the basis where the Internet was built and founded upon. To us, curation means finding interesting and well-written articles that are highly appropriate for our website and for our readers. Whenever we choose an article from your site, we are giving it our approval. This means that we not only excerpt your article but we also give it our highest recommendation to our readers and in every case, we direct our readers to view your article on your website. Our curation is designed to let our readers view your site and your articles. It was outstanding and well-written and that is the reason why we curated and excerpted your article. 99% of the emails we receive about curation and excerpting are from publishers and authors who are happy to receive additional exposure and readership for their stories as an outcome of our curation. These online publishers and authors recognize the value and significance of having their stories and articles quoted, commented on, discussed, debated and linked to interested readers who are encouraged to read the articles. Social sharing of online content gives much benefit to the original publisher’s website since it extends the reach, impact, effectiveness and profitability of their site.

Whenever we excerpt your content, we inform our visitors and point them to its original source. To put it honestly, we want our readers to explore, discover and visit your content and your website as well. We want you to be delighted that we were able to excerpt an article from your site.

We excerpt your stories that way we also hope others will curate our content. When you like an article or story on our site, we are delighted and gratified. This makes us feel that our content had made an impact on our readers. Please feel free to excerpt it as generously as you’d like. Take as much of our content that you think will be sufficient to entertain and inform your readers. In return, kindly give us clear credit, a link back to the original article and encouragement for interested readers to visit the original article and our website as well. That is what we are doing and that is what social sharing on the Internet is all about. Everyone can greatly benefit from it when it is done honestly and respectfully.

Here is what we never do: We never take your entire article and we never republish without full credit and links to send back the reader to its original source. We always change the headline, title and add more context, meaning and analysis to your articles. We never republish an RSS feed verbatim and we never excerpt without the good intention of sending you more traffic to your site.

We have set our general guidelines for excerpts published on our website and these are: not taking more than 30-40% of any article, never more than one article from any site in one day, not taking more than what is needed to inform and communicate the significance of the article. If you want us to be more generous with the links and credit, please let us know. If you also feel that your story has been excerpted too much, please let us know as well. We will comply and fix it to your standards immediately.

Many standards, practices and legal decisions about “Fair Use” are still evolving online. Our standards may very well differ from yours. We have set standards that are much higher than the merely legal and much higher than Fair Use. We want Delighted Use and not just Fair Use. If, for any reason, you are not delighted and you wish us not to excerpt your stories, simply contact us and request your story to be taken down. Without exception, we will respect your decision and we will immediately comply with your takedown request. We will then put you on the list of sites that we should never excerpt from. Thank you.
